Why I Do Not Support Trump

“I like my Presidents to not associate with foreign entities to better themselves. I also like them to not sit on the shitter tweeting in the middle of the night. I like them not to call Dictators his best friend and our allies our enemies. I like someone that can take criticism and not start name calling and throwing twitter melt downs every time he doesn't get his way. I like presidents that don't say they would date their daughter. I like Presidents that haven't filed bankruptcy 5 times and screwed over working class people doing it. I like Presidents that don't give themselves and their billionaire friends a windfall tax break and then cry about immigration now when it was happening and could have been handled under a fully GOP government for 2 years. I like Presidents that don't call war hero's weak. I like Presidents that don't speak ill of the deceased war veterans of this country. I like Presidents that didn't draft dodge.  Is that enough reasons or do you need more. Now you tell me why you think Trump is worthy of the position of the President of the United States of America.” - by Stephanie Hutchings of Marion, OH

You're What?

When I was a kid my momma told me that I could be a good person, or I could be a bad girl.    The choice was mine.   But what’s good in one persons mind may not be so hot from another’s perspective.   Kind of like Democrats and Republicans - depending on which side you’re on, depends on who is good and who is bad, from an individual perspective that is.   Some of us hear the words Conservative or Republican and right away an image of some rich, stiff lip, gun toting, racist, bible thumpin’, white guy comes to mind.   And still, when others hear Liberal or Democrat the illusion flips to the brown, lazy, impoverished, free loading, gay, baby killer.   It would be comical, except there are quite a few of us who seriously prescribe to this silly way of classifying each other.    This classification of government representatives is a false façade to say the least anyway.   Like did you know it was actually George W. Bush who implemented...

We Are America

The following was taken from the book, “All The Women In My Family Sing.” It was adapted from the speech given at the Women’s March in Washington, D.C., on January 21, 2017.   It’s called, “We Are America,” by America Ferrera, who is most known for her role on ABC’s comedy, “Ugly Betty.”   It’s been a heart-wrenching time to be both a woman and an immigrant in this country.   Our dignity, our character and our rights have all been under attack, and a platform of hate and division assumed power yesterday.   But the president is not America. His cabinet is not America.   Congress is not America.   We are America.   And we are here to stay.   We march for our families and our neighbors, for the future, for the causes we claim and for the causes that claim us.   We march for the moral core of this nation, against which our new president is raging a war.   He would like us to forget the words, “Give me your tired, your poor, your h...

The Future is Female

“WHEN THE BLINDFOLD FALLS,” by Kim Schulz THE FUTURE IS FEMALE From the beginning of time, masculinity has hustled and muscled its way forward with total disregard for the feminine.   From the beginning of time we were told how Eve tempted Adam with an apple.   The more likely reality is Eve was the forbidden fruit and Adam couldn’t keep freakin’ his off of her. And then came Jesus and Mary; Mary Magdalene, the Apostle to the Apostles.   She was one of the first disciples, and the first apostle to witness the risen Christ, and the first messenger to announce the resurrection of Jesus, which makes Mary Magdalene the first evangelist of Christianity.   When she told the other eleven apostles (all men of course) that Christ had risen, they blew her off altogether.   Paul even went as far as to exclude Mary Magdalene entirely from his letters to the Corinthians, which were written approximately 20 years after the crucifixion.   It wasn’t until 19...
