When I was a kid my momma told me
that I could be a good person, or I could be a bad girl. The choice was mine. But what’s good in one persons mind may not
be so hot from another’s perspective.
Kind of like Democrats and Republicans - depending on which side you’re
on, depends on who is good and who is bad, from an individual perspective that
is.
Some of us hear the words Conservative
or Republican and right away an image of some rich, stiff lip, gun toting, racist,
bible thumpin’, white guy comes to mind.
And still, when others hear Liberal or Democrat the illusion flips to
the brown, lazy, impoverished, free loading, gay, baby killer. It would be comical, except there are quite a
few of us who seriously prescribe to this silly way of classifying each other.
This classification of government representatives
is a false façade to say the least anyway.
Like did you know it was actually George W. Bush who implemented the
Obama phone program right before he left office? I bet conservatives just love the act of
giving away free cell phones to the unemployed.
And
Barrack Obama, whose cabinet was full of Wall Street Bankers, actually signed legislation
that cut food stamps significantly over a ten year period before he left
office; we’re talking about a loss of $90
per month on average, per household.[1] That wasn’t a very Democratic thing to do.
Republicans and Democrats, Bloods and
Crips, it’s all the same; red against blue.
The excuse of many broken campaign
promises hinge on thug love. Whoever has
the most gang members wins. I wonder
what would happen if we stole the focus from clan colors and returned it to
what really matters - the people.
The NRA, the pharmaceutical industry,
both of whom poured great amounts of money in GOP coffers, and all the other
corporate whores use this system of codification to divide and separate
us. Nothing is going to change as long
as we continue to vote for gangs versus individuals who favor life and liberty
above party affiliations.
And you, you Democrat, you Republican
– stop restricting your freedom to think to one color. Closed minds are neither colorful nor
courageous.
In closing, I share a Gallup poll
conducted December 3 thru December 12, 2018, in regards to party affiliation it
breaks down like this – 26% Republican, 39% Independent, and 32% Democrats. And when asked if Independents leaned more
Republican or Democrat, 40% said they leaned more towards Republican, and 47%
indicated that they lean more towards Democrats.[2]
