You're What?

When I was a kid my momma told me that I could be a good person, or I could be a bad girl.    The choice was mine.   But what’s good in one persons mind may not be so hot from another’s perspective.   Kind of like Democrats and Republicans - depending on which side you’re on, depends on who is good and who is bad, from an individual perspective that is.   Some of us hear the words Conservative or Republican and right away an image of some rich, stiff lip, gun toting, racist, bible thumpin’, white guy comes to mind.   And still, when others hear Liberal or Democrat the illusion flips to the brown, lazy, impoverished, free loading, gay, baby killer.   It would be comical, except there are quite a few of us who seriously prescribe to this silly way of classifying each other.    This classification of government representatives is a false façade to say the least anyway.   Like did you know it was actually George W. Bush who implemented...

The Wall - When Reality Becomes A Pink Floyd Movie

Walls are structures that enclose or divide.   Like everything else in this world, walls have their advantages and disadvantages.   Walls provide privacy, like bedroom walls; thank God for doors though, if you know what I mean.   We can hide behind walls.   Then there’s the kind of wall we build around our hearts; a wall of protection so to speak.   We withdraw to keep from feeling the hurt that often accompanies the relationships we encounter throughout our lifetimes.   Like when your dog or cat passes away and you find yourself saying, “Never again.”   Walls work like prisons.   They can keep information and people from getting in or from getting out; this includes the sensitive heart.   If you build a wall around your heart, you’ve closed yourself off from love.   You hide behind your wall and others can no longer see your love-light shine.   Its fear based and there is nothing romantic or courageous about it. Take for i...

The Future is Female

“WHEN THE BLINDFOLD FALLS,” by Kim Schulz THE FUTURE IS FEMALE From the beginning of time, masculinity has hustled and muscled its way forward with total disregard for the feminine.   From the beginning of time we were told how Eve tempted Adam with an apple.   The more likely reality is Eve was the forbidden fruit and Adam couldn’t keep freakin’ his off of her. And then came Jesus and Mary; Mary Magdalene, the Apostle to the Apostles.   She was one of the first disciples, and the first apostle to witness the risen Christ, and the first messenger to announce the resurrection of Jesus, which makes Mary Magdalene the first evangelist of Christianity.   When she told the other eleven apostles (all men of course) that Christ had risen, they blew her off altogether.   Paul even went as far as to exclude Mary Magdalene entirely from his letters to the Corinthians, which were written approximately 20 years after the crucifixion.   It wasn’t until 19...
